South Grenville Atom Tournament

The SG Atom C1 team enjoyed two days of hockey @ the Prescott Arena where they were undefeated.  The team took to the ice @ 8am Saturday morning against the Nepean Phantoms where team work paid off.  The team won 8-0.
Their next challengers were the Char-Lan Rebels.  After a strong start, scoring twice in the first 45 seconds the SG Rangers had to battle hard during the second period and then exploded in the third where they scored 4 of their 8 goals. The final result was 8-2.  SG Atom C1 team returned to the ice Sunday @12pm to a hard fought game against the Smiths Falls C1 team.  The team squeaked in a 1-0 win.
After round robin play the SG AtomC1 team found themselves tied for 1st place with the Brockville Jr. Braves at 13.5 points and both having a +13 goal differential.  That put both teams into the "A" final @4pm.  The first two periods were victorious for the team and the third proved to be more challenging where the teams defensive game was key.  The opposing team scored twice in the last two minutes of play but the SG Atom C1 team managed to hang on to a 4-2 win!
All the parents were very proud of the players for their hard work!  CONGRATULATIONS Jase, Maddy, Haley, Breanna, Alyson, Kasey, Mackenzie, Mitchell, Gillian, Sam, Hayden and Payten.  A big thank you to Coach Bobby, Ken, Tim and Trainer Dan.
