Cyberbullying in Hockey
Cyberbullying in hockey involves using digital platforms—like texts, emails, social media, or gaming chats—to harass, embarrass, threaten, or exclude teammates, coaches, or officials. It can include spreading rumors, posting hurtful content, or excluding others from group chats.
SGMHA has a zero-tolerance policy toward cyberbullying. All players are expected to act respectfully online as representatives of their team and sport. Cyberbullying not only harms individuals—it damages team unity, mental well-being, and the overall spirit of the game.
Players, coaches, and parents must work together to ensure hockey remains a safe and respectful environment—on and off the ice.
